A holistic social media and online presence can be your best friend as a Small Bizz owner or a new Startup founder.

If you’re a new startup founder or small business owner, or someone interested in starting a new business, a holistic social media and online presence could be your best friend. There are certain ways to create and promote content that will attract leads, generate sales and help create an overall buzz surrounding your new venture.

Be consistent in your engagement

This does not have to mean posting multiple times a day, everyday of the week. However, it does mean that you should chalk out a rough content calendar where you decide what days of the week you will be posting and hold yourself to that particular posting interval. Trial and error will help you understand what days and what timings work best for your community, don’t overwhelm your page in the beginning, but don’t skip out on posting for days at a time either. 

Post behind the scenes content that tease upcoming launches

Your community wants to know how you work, iit allows them to feel more connected to you and the brand you are building with and for them. Phases of the creative design process or even production process could be a unique way to show how your brand stands out. Document everything and streamline what you post from your inventory of BTS content.

Create competitions or giveaway opportunities when releasing a new line

Social media is a great way to generate buzz and excitement prior to a new launch. Along with behind the scenes and product teasers, organising a small competition or a giveaway on the first day of the launch can help grow your community and also be a way of saying thank you to those who have been there from the start. Remember to always have a clear set of rules and regulations and terms and conditions in place while conducting such an event on your social media and follow the platform's guidelines. 

Interact with other small business owners and influencers in your niche

Establishing, maintaining and growing a supportive network of your contemporaries in the field is a good way to keep a tab on the current trends. It is also good to create a positive community of supportive founders and business owners to be inspired by and get advice from.

Engage with your community

Meaningful, first person engagement with the community you are building is key to gaining a supportive audience. Whether this be responding to comments, conversing in the DMs, asking the community what they want to see through polls or even story Q&As. Maintain a good relationship with loyal customers via DMs or email, thank them for their order, send them monthly newsletters with what new launches they can expect. It’s important to get the pulse of the people so you can serve them better. 

Share quality content 

The temptation to put quantity above quality can be strong; especially with an ever changing algorithm. But maintain quality control over what goes out on your social media pages. It’s great to post regularly as long as the content of these posts is intentional. 

The importance of a loyal and engaged community should not be lost in your bid to see a rapid rise in numbers. You need to work on creating eye-catching and highly engaging content that seamlessly fits into your broader marketing strategy.
