Friday Feeling: Making Skincare Fun!

Sister duo’s skincare startup Friday Feeling is here to make you feel your best while ensuring your skin is protected.

As brown women, our quest for a sunscreen that truly caters to our unique skin needs can be quite a challenge. We’ve all experienced sunscreens that leave the dreaded white cast on brown skin because they were not formulated for Indian skin, or the ones with greasy residues that make you shine like an oily dumpling or the ones that straight up smell like a vodka shot. Basically, it’s hard to find a good sunscreen, let alone one that is made in India, for Indian women, by Indian women!

Friday Feeling, founded by sisters Kavya and Divya Rai, is a formulation-first skincare brand with products that work for all and are fun to use. The sisters launched the brand with sunscreens that took them almost two years to formulate- ‘Second Nature’ and ‘Golden Hour’.

We got to sit down with Divya to learn more about Friday Feeling and her entrepreneurial journey so far.

“Early 2020, Kavya and I got really into skincare and the science of it. The idea for sunscreen came to us because I personally had a bad sunburn experience. The idea of reapplying the sticky, greasy sunscreen on a hot day was not appealing at all. We wanted to develop a sunscreen that not only provided broad spectrum protection but also felt just like skin.- Divya Rai
